THREE OBSTACLES FOR WOMEN WHO DESIRE TO BE FIT.

THREE OBSTACLES FOR WOMEN WHO DESIRE TO BE FIT.

I often get asked what the most common barriers to a healthier lifestyle are for women. My answers are most commonly the following:

1. Unrealistic goals and expectations

based on media exploitation of what a “fit” woman looks like. At some point, fitness took a wicked turn and became more about being “ripped” than about being fit for our daily purpose: love God and love people. Period. Working out helps us live and move and have our being in this life without being winded, sacked, or sidelined.

2. Comparison

Women looking at other women and holding up their measuring sticks instead of cheering one another on.

One of the greatest gifts God gave women is their ability to produce life. Not just with our ability to carry and birth life but our ability to come alongside our men and other women to cheer them on and SPEAK life. Comparison is not only the thief of joy but also a gag rag for speaking and bringing life. Women make great body (of Christ) builders.

3. Results aren’t fast enough

We put down the sugar, pick up the salad forks, and one week later don’t SEE the results we were hoping for so we throw our hands up and make false agreements that “fit” isn’t in the cards. God is in no rush when it comes to REAL wellness/fitness. For the ones who make it, it’s always a daily walk and never a sprint.

Do any of these ring true for you? Or maybe you know one I haven’t shared. So please…share. Comment below. We love hearing about your walk with God.
