ALL of your life is about training. All of it. It’s not just a fitness thing.
The word training means – the action of teaching a person a particular skill or type of behavior. Skill is something you do with your hands. Behavior is something that goes on in your heart. Hands and hearts. Yup..sounds like some of the things Jesus is interested in getting after in us. Training.
In preparation of this Spreecast class I Googled “The Best Training Plans/Programs Ever” Would it surprise you to know that the search pulled up over 575,000,000 posts on the internet that either prescribe, sell or reference the best way to train. Go ahead..take a moment..how many different fads and trends have you participated in? There’s nothing wrong with the latest and greatest. I too like to shake my bon-bon (and get a good chuckle) in a Zumba class. I own a drawer full of Spinning shorts with butt pads and cycling cleats for a bike that went nowhere. But here’s the thing, they are all linear training programs. That’s treadmill training.
All training programs that stop short of leading you closer towards your Creator, run the risk of flitting across the surface. Without growing in the knowledge and love of God as the goal, they’re just a workout. I am passionate about people not missing the awesome opportunity to train and become more whole! Not the wholeness that the world offers. But the wholeness that only Jesus can give.
Watch this teaching to find out why we have to stop linear training. Find out what “set apart” training looks like. And find out why this type of training supersedes just fitness.
The teaching is 40 minutes long. (Don’t fade on me now.) Let’s lean in! Pull it up on your phone and let’s go for a walk together. Or put it on before you hit “START” on the treadmill. Let’s get to work on changing your skill and your behavior. This teaching will ROCK the way you think about fitness. About getting FIT in all areas of your life.
Getting FIT is the perfect playground for growing in great faith.
